Powder Coating
ORRMAC COATINGS LTD., are an approved applicator of Resicoat FBE powder to pipes & fittings for the water industry & other manufacturing processes where finished items are in contact with potable water. We can also offer a wide range of fusion bonded epoxy and other powder applied coatings for a variety of clients and uses.

The main powder coating facility concists of an inline, bogie-fed, double oven and application booth where powders are hand applied using electrostatic spraying equipment.
The oven is capable of holding items of up to 6.000 metres long x 2.950 wide x 2.750 metres high (depending on the configuration) and weighing up to 5 tonnes.
Small items can be coated using a fluidised bed system.

The company is approved to Transco specification CW6 for fusion bonded epoxy coating of bends, tees and reducers ranging in size from 50mm dia., up to 1200mm dia., and certain random length pipes up to 1200mm dia.

We also apply '3 layer' powder systems (FBE + adhesive + polyethylene or polypropylene) to pipeline fittings and underwater housings.
Various other epoxy and polyester powders can be applied for specific purposes.

Grit blasting prior to coating can be carried out in any of 3 blast rooms.

Internal painting of pipes and fittings can be carried out with a wide range of lining materials and systems.

Extensive inspection facilities, Q.A. and Q.C. procedures and equipment are available including infra-red temperature recording and high voltage spark testing to 20,000 volts. Oven temperature controllers and chart recorders are checked and calibrated on a regular basis by specialist contractors.
